Roofing & Spouting

A leak rarely announces where it's coming from. Water tracks along framing and lining before it appears, so the wet patch on your ceiling is often nowhere near the actual fault.

In our experience most roof leaks aren't the roof itself — they're the details around it. Failed or lifted flashings, seals around flues, vents and pipe penetrations, corroded fixings, or spouting and box gutters overflowing back under the roofline. We locate the source properly rather than sealing the nearest likely spot and hoping.

We replace PVC and continuous spouting, downpipes and brackets — whether a section has failed, the system is at the end of its life, or it simply can't cope with the rain it's being asked to carry.

Undersized or poorly falling spouting is a common cause of problems that look like roof leaks. If yours overflows every time there's heavy rain, the answer usually isn't more cleaning.

Box and internal gutters carry a lot of water and are unforgiving when something goes wrong, because an overflow goes straight inside the building rather than over the edge. We repair and replace box gutters, outlets and overflows, and can advise where capacity is the underlying issue.

Roof plumbing is where our trade and your roof overlap, and it's often the part that gets missed. We handle penetrations and flashings for flues, vents and pipework, downpipe connections into your stormwater system, and connections through to rainwater tanks.

Because we also do the drainage, we can follow the water all the way through — if a downpipe is discharging into a blocked or damaged stormwater line, we can find that too rather than leaving you to call someone else.

We provide advice on how to check these roofing components to ensure they are working effectively so your home or building remains dry. Clearing spouting and checking flashings before winter is far cheaper than repairing water damage after it.
