Water Filtration Systems

A point of use system treats water at one outlet — usually an under-sink filter feeding a dedicated drinking tap, or the kitchen mixer. It's the cost-effective option when your concern is drinking and cooking water.

A whole house system treats everything entering the property, so filtered water reaches every tap, shower and appliance. That's the right approach when the issue affects more than taste — sediment, scale damaging appliances, or a supply that needs treating before it's used anywhere in the house.

We'll talk through which makes sense for your situation rather than selling you more system than you need.

Sediment and taste — Grit, silt and discolouration, plus the taste and odour issues that carbon filtration deals with. If your supply is chlorinated, carbon filtration removes the chlorine taste and smell.

Nitrates — A real issue for Canterbury bore water, particularly on rural properties in the Selwyn and Waimakariri catchments. Nitrate levels can't be tasted or smelled and won't be improved by a standard filter, so if you're on a private bore it's worth having the water tested and treating it specifically.

Hard water and limescale — Hardness varies considerably depending on where your water comes from. If you're seeing scale on elements, showerheads and tapware, spotting on glassware, or soap that won't lather, treatment will extend the life of your hot water cylinder and appliances.

Bacteria and contamination — For tank and bore supply, UV treatment and filtration where the water is being used for drinking.

We also handle cartridge and filter replacement, servicing, and repairs to existing systems — including ones we didn't install.
