New Home Builds

Our work starts before the slab goes down. We set out and lay the drainage underneath it, connect to the sewer and stormwater mains, then come back to rough in the hot and cold water, waste and gas through the framing and pressure test it before the linings go on.

Once the house is lined and the surfaces are in, we return for the fitout, and finish with the certification your builder needs for Code Compliance. Roof plumbing, spouting and downpipes are part of the same scope, so that is one contractor rather than four.

The fitout is the part you actually see and use. We install and connect the sanitaryware and tapware throughout: toilets, vanities, basins, baths, showers and mixers, the kitchen sink and the laundry tub.

That includes the appliance connections that get left to the last minute, dishwasher, washing machine and waste disposal, along with heated towel rails, outdoor taps, gas hobs and instant water heaters. The cylinder gets connected, commissioned and its tempering valve set, and we pressure test and check every outlet before handover.

If you have chosen your own tapware and sanitaryware, bring it to us early. Fixture choice affects pipe sizing and rough-in positions, and it is a great deal cheaper to allow for a wall-hung vanity or a particular shower mixer at rough-in than to open a lined wall to fix it later.

A new build is the cheapest time to install anything other than a standard electric cylinder, because nothing has to be retrofitted and the pipework and location can be planned around it from the start.

We will size the system to the number of bedrooms and how the household actually lives, and talk you through where a hot water heat pump or a solar system pays off against a conventional cylinder. Getting this decision right at plan stage is worth more than almost any other call you make on the plumbing.

A lot of new building around Rolleston, Lincoln, Prebbleton and West Melton is not on mains water. If your section runs off a bore or tank, the water system is part of the build rather than an afterthought, and it has to be sized and installed alongside the house plumbing.

We handle tanks, pump selection and installation, filtration and treatment, and boundary backflow protection where an alternative supply means the council requires it, so the whole water system is commissioned and working together on handover day.

Builders and developers are most of our new build work, and what they need is a plumber who prices accurately off the drawings and turns up when the programme says. We do take-offs from your plans, give you a firm price, and hold our dates so linings and inspections are not waiting on us.

Plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying are all restricted work that has to be carried out or supervised by licensed tradespeople and certified afterwards. We provide the documentation you need for the pre-line and final inspections and for Code Compliance, without anyone having to chase us for it.
